SERVING  WITHIN  THE  CHURCH

Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.

Romans 12:4-6

PERSONAL  OPPORTUNITIES

COMMITTEES

YOU WANT TO SERVE ON A COMMITTEE ? ? ?

That seems a bit strange, but if you really, really feel called to be on a committee, we have a few.  To be honest, being non-denominational, we have fewer committees than most.  If you do not find one that fits you, let us know and we might consider adding it.  (Please know this is written from the very unique mind of the person setting up this website and hope it gave you a chuckle.)

URBANA YOKE PARISH COMMITTEES

The Church Officers and the Church Board direct our business matters.  Other committees are:

Benevolence

Budget & Nominating

Christian Ed

Outreach

Personnel

Program

Worship

Through these committees,

  • we support our neighbors -- the ones living a few steps from our church to those thousands of miles away.  We worship and study together - building a strong foundation of faith.
  • we have programs - outside music groups, speakers, and meals together.
  • we support our church through giving - using our resources of blessings, time, and prayer.
  • we work with the worship schedule and prepare communion.
  • we allow our individual talents to shine - music, usher, greeters, or even serving on a committee.

You can see -- we have enough committees to accomplish the work of the church, but not so many they take away from our time of worship or our time together.
